Junior Company
Company students will be well-rounded performers with emphasis placed on both pom and jazz technical development. Performance opportunities will include community outreach, UDA competitions and the Golden Steps Recital. In addition, Junior Company members will compete regionally at one or two dance competitions each year such as Starbound, Showstopper, Headliners, etc.
Audition Skills
- Single jazz and pom pirouettes right and left (mastered)
- Double jazz and pom pirouettes right and left (developing)
- Single coupe turn with closed arms right and left (developing)
- Chaine, soutenu and pique turns right and left (developing)
- Splits one way out of three (mastered)
- Jetes right and left (developing)
- Center leaps right (developing)
- High kicks front and side with both right and left legs (developing)
- Tilt kicks right and left
- Tuck jumps, star jumps and pike jumps (developing)
- Strong presentation skills (confidence, projection, energy)
- Ability to execute basic pom motions with precision
