Mini Poms

Our young, committed dance students have the opportunity to develop technically in a performance and competition-based team environment. The Mini Poms are in grades 3 through 5 (age exceptions may be approved by the coach) and work together in the genres of pom dance, ballet, jazz and baton twirling. In addition to a variety of community outreach appearances and the Golden Steps Recital, the Minis will compete in UDA pom dance competitions and USTA and/or NBTA twirling competitions.
 
Audition Skills:  single jazz pirouette right, splits right and left, execution of basic pom motions (high and low V, diag, line, shelf, touchdown, clean, broken T, full T), Step 1 twirling skills (arm roll, elbow roll, horizontals, chocolate/vanilla, taffy pull, open hand toss), age-appropriate presentation skills (posture, smile, upper and lower-body control)
