Golden Steps Dance Company

Company students will be well-rounded performers with solid technical development in ballet and jazz. The Company will explore various genres with much focus placed on the soft style of expressive lyrical ballet and also technical, sassy jazz. Performance opportunities will include community outreach, Purdue University and the Golden Steps Recital. In addition, Company members will compete regionally at two or three dance competitions each year such as JUMP, Showstopper, Headliners, etc.
 
Audition Skills: perfected double ballet and jazz pirouettes, triple jazz pirouettes, turns in a la seconde with arm and exit variations, pique turns with arabesque exit, pique fouette turns, attitude turns, traveling turn sequences incorporating chaines, soutenus and piques, grand jetes right and left, center leaps right, switch leaps right, ponches, splits right and left, interest in and ability to interpret music through full-body expression, excellent presentation skills (confidence, projection, body control, emotion)
