Your first class is free! As with all of our classes, you are welcome to try your first class at no cost.

Do I have to sign up in advance?
You do not have to pre-register for class. We have a short form that you can fill out at the studio or you can print the registration form here, fill it out, and bring it with you. You’re first class is free, so once you turn in your form, you can get ready to start class!
What do I wear to class?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement and shoes that are comfortable with plenty of cushion and support. You may find that running shoes or cross trainers may have too much tread to allow for side-to-side movement. Lesser-tread athletic shoes may be preferable.
Is there anything I should bring with me?
We ask all participants to have a dedicated pair of clean shoes to change into for activity participation on any of our studio floors. Shoes that have been worn outside are not permitted on any of our dance floors. If there are rocks or any moisture on the floor from your shoes, this could cause injury to you or one of your Zumba classmates. We also recommend you bring a towel and water to class.
Are all Zumba classes the same?
All Zumba classes will contain a mix of latin and international rhythms, however, you will find that no two Zumba classes are exactly alike. That’s because Zumba gives instructors the freedom to choose music that we find fun and inspiring, and we are encouraged to mix in our own choreography with the steps that are suggested by Zumba.
Is it hard to catch on to the moves?
You don’t have to be a professional dancer or have Latin genes to Zumba. In fact, we have a rule at Golden Steps: “There are no wrong moves in Zumba!” The most important thing is to just move, have fun, and don’t take it (or yourself) too seriously! Focus on the feet first, then the arms/hips, etc. and the rest will follow. I guarantee it gets easier with every class. Plus, you can always see me before or after class if you want to review a step or have questions.
Can I bring my 60 year-old mother and my 16 year-old daughter with me to Zumba?
Of course! Zumba is for everyone and because you can modify the movements to work for you, we have all ages, fitness levels, and skill levels in class at Golden Steps.
